Charles is a New York based television producer, writer and director, living in Jackson Heights, Queens. Working mostly in the true crime genre, he has produced programming for ABC, CBS, NBC, Identification Discovery, CNN and the Oxygen Channel. He also has an extensive background in theater and music, which he draws from in his writing.

The filmmaker accomplishes this by encouraging playful exploration in a multi-media installation of 70+ toy pandas she created in her neighbourhood. The vibe of the film is lighthearted and optimistic. As the children initiate an election on behalf of the pandas, their experience embodies community building, demonstrates acts of civic engagement and conveys the important message that, by working together, even young children can effect change.  The film is a life-affirming tribute to kids’ compassion and the birth of their activism!”

April 27, 2022 - Filmmaker Dae Ryun Chang (WE CAN DREAM & CALL COHO)

Dae Ryun Chang’s short film WE CAN DREAM was voted Best Documentary at the LA Feedback Film Festival.

CRYING ON THE ISLAND THEY OWN was the winner of BEST FILM at the March 2022 Dance Film Festival.

Joan Dwiartanto is in her fourth and final year as a Dance major at The Juilliard School. She has taken a keen interest in Dance filmmaking and wishes to continue creating movement for film. Other than creating her own short films, Joan has worked closely with principal dancer of American Ballet Theatre James Whiteside in creating his own Ballet film Marilyn’s Funeral in 2021. And she has worked on a film as a co-dircector alongside director Maggie Scranton representing Juilliard in the Park Avenue Armory’s virtual film event 100 Years | 100 women.

A child transforms a desolate vacant lot into her playground, not for idle play, but for a contest with herself—serious, urgent, and mystical. Her actions bring her to uncanny intersections with a musician, whose ferocious efforts on the glockenspiel are strangely entangled with her own games. (The score is a movement from the double-Grammy-nominated album Seven Pillars.
